Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Coming to the Wii Console
Nintendo has announced that the next chapter in the Legend of Zelda series, Skyward Sword, will be released on November 20, 2011. This much awaited new video game for the Wii will be out just in time to make this year's Christmas list.
New Game Play
The game will have several new advancements and will use the Wii Motion Plus for control. With the new Wii Motion Plus the in-game sword will follow your movements and not only will timing matter, but also accuracy. This should add a whole new level to the game play and challenge of Zelda. If you don't have a Wii Motion Plus, don't worry, one option will be to purchase a bundle that includes the game and a gold colored Wii Motion Plus. A number of other improvements are included in the game as well.
Storyline
The storyline of Skyward Sword takes place early on in the Zelda series, before the Ocarina of Time game. The main character, Link, discovers the Skyward Sword. He must use it to rescue his childhood friend Zelda from the evil Lord Ghirahim. Some questions and history about the world of Zelda are answered in this story, but we won't give them away here.
In the game you will get to explore all sorts of different areas from the sea of clouds in the sky to the deepest dungeons. There are deserts, forests, and even volcanoes to explore. As you take on quests and explore you will encounter traps, puzzles to solve, and monsters to battle. You will also get all types of weapons and items to play around with and upgrade. There is even a flying beetle that will help you to grab items from a distance. Speaking of flying, you will have mounts, like in the other Zelda games, including Link's own a flying crimson loftwing.
Overall
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be one of the biggest new releases from Nintendo for the Wii in some time. It takes one of Nintendo's most popular series and gives it some new technology and many new features. We think it will be popular and a fun new video game for kids to try out this Christmas.
Rating
The game has the ESRB rating of E 10+ due to animated blood, comic mischief, and fantasy violence. The initial games will also come with a CD of songs from the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony Concert.
